The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton (Dayton Children’s), in Dayton, OH, has undergone a series of renovations and additions that have doubled the size of the emergency department. The emergency center cared for nearly 70,000 patients over the last year, so utilizing the space effectively to meet the needs of visiting families was a top priority for the busy medical center.
During its recent growth, Dayton Children’s identified three main criteria that materials used in the expansion needed to meet to merit consideration. Flooring needed to provide enhanced acoustic qualities, low-maintenance requirements and great ergonomic benefits for the center’s busy staff. Following a three-month test installation, Cindy Burger, director of critical care, emergency and trauma services, chose noraplan environcare™ for multiple areas throughout the facility.
