As hospital planners developed plans for the R. Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center on the University of Maryland Medical Center campus, they set out to adhere to the finish standards in place at all of their facilities. Administrators required high-level standards in terms of maintenance, health and sustainability, and products were tested and evaluated with those criteria in mind. At the Shock Trauma Center, facility officials installed noraplan environcare™ throughout virtually the entire facility. As a result, nurses and staff are experiencing a quiet, comfortable atmosphere, where they can concentrate on providing excellent care to those in dire need, as they experience less fatigue throughout the course of the day. Thanks to the nora® pro clean system (a chemical-free maintenance regimen), environmental services teams are achieving the desired shine on the floors without applying any finish products or waxes. Overall, the hectic, high-pressure Shock Trauma Center exudes a more relaxed atmosphere, due in large part to the enhanced acoustic properties and pleasant color scheme of the flooring.
